Doug Arbuckle - JPDO

Doug Arbuckle leads the Agile Air Traffic System Integrated Product Team (IPT) in the Next Generation Air Transportation System Joint Planning & Development Office. The IPT is charged with establishing an agile air traffic system that will: be responsive to market elasticity; deliver capacity and efficiency improvements; support a wide range of operations tailored to user needs.

Arbuckle has worked for NASA since 1979, beginning as a researcher at Langley Research Center (LaRC) in aircraft flight controls and simulation. He served as the Aeronautical Controls and Guidance Program Manager in NASA Headquarters. At LaRC, he served as Head of the Vehicle Operations Research Branch, as Acting Chief of the Flight Dynamics and Control Division, and as Director of the Airborne Systems Competency.

Arbuckle holds a B.S. and M.S. degrees in Aerospace Engineering and is an AIAA Associate Fellow. He is a recipient of NASA’s Exceptional Achievement and Outstanding Leadership Medals. He served as a member of the Flight Safety Foundation’s International Advisory Committee, and is currently a member of the RTCA Air Traffic Management Advisory Committee Requirements and Planning Work Group.
