Broadband Satcom - serving more than the Cabin Gary Colledge, InmarsatThe e-enabled cockpit is now becoming a reality and the use of ATS and AOC datalink applications is growing rapidly. There is now recognition that the Internet Protocol Service (IPS) will ultimately be utilised for cockpit communications, beginning with AOC and EFB applications and that 'broadband satcom' offers an appropriate carrier. This presentation presents the current state-of-play of delivering Inmarsat broadband to the airframe, and the advantages and challenges ahead in reaching into the cockpit. |
