Nick Witt

Nicholas Witt spent the early years of his career at the Royal Aerospace Establishment, in the Civil Avionics Research section. He was involved in a wide range of research projects conducted on behalf of the Department of Trade & Industry and the Civil Aviation Authority, particularly on the analysis, development and flight trials of advanced avionic systems designed to support future concepts of civil Air Traffic Management.

Subsequently, at the EUROCONTROL Agency in Brussels, he played a leading role in the formulation of the Agency’s programmes to develop mobile air-ground data communications and the Aeronautical Telecommunication Network (ATN). He was specifically responsible for management of the Agency’s in-house and extramural work programme on the Mode S Secondary Surveillance Radar system and its associated ATN compatible subnetwork.
