IATA

IATA was founded in 1919 to promote the convenience and acceptability of the air transport industry. Following the Chicago Convention in 1944, IATA was re-established as the International Air Transport Association. The aims and objectives of IATA are to promote safe, regular and economical air transport for the benefit of the peoples of the world, to foster air commerce and to provide the means for collaboration among the air transport enterprises. IATA strongly supports the new CNS/ATM concept in the expectation that the aviation community will receive significant and sustained benefits from increased efficiency in Air Traffic Services. IATA supports ATN2000 as it will improve the awareness of the importance of the new CNS/ATM concept.
