At the recent ATN 2000 conference Logica demonstrated a user-friendly, generic, ATN network planning tool based on the OPNET simulation tool. The tool provides a toolkit of components including:
The network planning tool has been developed by Logica for Eurocontrol and provides a flexible platform which can be used to simulate national and wider geographic areas. In particular it allows the distribution of data traffic, the quality of service achieved, and the associated costs of ATN design options to be investigated, as well as the validation of proposed operational procedures.
